Schmancy Olympic Challenge

I'm so excited! I entered the Schmancy Olympic Challenge and have sketched out an idea for my entry. I received the made up category (just what I was hoping for!) and plan to have a lot of fun with it.

Happy sewing to everyone who entered!

Poirot the Racoon

Poirot the Racoon, originally uploaded by Lilith's Children.

I made this little guy yesterday. I've been trying to develop a new look for my critters and this little guy came a long!

I was watching a Poirot marathon while I stitched and so the name.

This is my newest little guy. I've been working on something new for a couple of weeks now but I couldn't seem to get it right then Zen came along.

Urban Craft Uprising Winter 09

I was doing some research today -- that's what I call surfing the web looking at beautiful things when I should be sewing! -- and discovered the gorgeous work of Karen Thurman (http://www.karenthurmansweaters.com/). It's a new favorite thing. :)

A few of my favorite things

I have been falling in love with dolls again lately, especially art dolls.

I am amazed by the work of loopy boopy and am completely in love with it.

Maranda

Maranda, originally uploaded by Lilith's Children.

Maranda lives in a apartment in a very old building which has a lot of character. She lives with her three dogs and a pet canary. Every morning she gets up and writes stories for children and her dogs and canary sit and watch her. When she is finished writing she gives the dogs and the canary a snack and takes them all out for a long walk and Gelato.

Needle Felting

I'm in love with felting!

I usually crochet yarn and then felt it in the washing machine but I set out today to get the supplies needed for needle felting. I ended up doing a lot of research and thought I'd share it here just in case someone from Vancouver Canada comes by!

Snuggle and Hugs

Here are my newest kids. So cute! I crocheted (Afghan stitch) the front panel from wool yarn and then felted it. I had been having some trouble felting my work since we got a high efficiency washing machine, but -- as you can see! -- I found a setting that worked. :)

Octopus and Green Thing

The house was silent so I went off in search of Octopus and Green Thing. I found them hiding around the side of the house. Boo!

Meet Gem, a forest Troll. I've put pictures of her up on Flickr and my etsy store.
